Wednesday 18 July, the third day of the 30th meeting of the CITES Animals Committee Meeting, was mostly dedicated to meetings of working groups. They took up their respective mandates and crafted recommendations for consideration at the plenary session on Thursday.
Working groups on African lion, sharks, Review of Significant Trade, and leopard quotas for hunting trophies met during the morning session. The working group on leopard quotas for hunting trophies concluded its mandate in the afternoon while the working group on Appropriate and Acceptable Destinations just started its work.
Various side events were held during the lunch break.
